Vegan Whiskey Sour

This drink recipe comes courtesy of my husband after I asked him to find a drink that foams without an egg white – and he nailed it! This cocktail is the perfect amount of sweet and sour with that incredible foamy finish. Don’t be afraid of using aquafaba- you’ll never notice the difference and it is so easy to work with!

Serves 2 | Vegan

  • 3 oz (2 shots) aquafaba
  • 6 oz (4 shots) whiskey
  • 3 oz (2 shots) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2.25 oz (1 1/2 shots) simple syrup
  • 3 drops aromatic simple syrup (or bitters)
  • orange peel garnish
  • 1 cup ice

Using a vegetable peeler, peel two small curls from the skin of an orange and set aside. Pour aquafaba into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with 1/2 cup ice for 30 seconds. Pour in the rest of the ingredients and shake for 10 seconds. Place 1/4 cup ice into each drink glass. Strain cocktail over each glass, ensuring to divide evenly. Garnish with an orange peel.

Note – to obtain aquafaba, drain off the liquid from one can of chickpeas.
